Client Background

The client is a Redmond-based leading Salesforce consulting partner firm that delivers end-to-end Sales Cloud and Service Cloud implementations, CPQ/Billing configurations, and custom Lightning applications for mid-to-large enterprises.

Client Requirement

The client was looking for expertise to integrate Salesforce with legacy ERP, custom databases, and third-party applications. The in-house team was skilled in configuring and developing Salesforce. However, they lacked the hands-on expertise needed to work on MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform, which was essential to build enterprise-grade, scalable, and secure integrations.

The client was looking for a MuleSoft developer with 3+ years of experience who could work with their internal teams on concurrent projects to fill in the IT skills gap.

Specific Technical Requirements

3+ years of enterprise integration experience
3+ years with MuleSoft products
At least one end-to-end MuleSoft project implementation
Hands-on with Anypoint Platform components: API Manager, Design Center, Runtime Manager, Monitoring, Exchange
API-led design experience with OpenAPI/RAML; experience mapping OpenAPI 3.x to RAML where needed
GraphQL experience and ability to expose/consume GraphQL endpoints via Mule flows
Strong DataWeave 2.x transformation skills; development of Flows, Subflows, Message Processors, connectors, scopes, and robust error handling
Familiarity with CI/CD automation (build, test, deploy) and GitHub repositories
Understanding of MuleSoft deployment options (CloudHub, RTF) and security standards (OAuth, SSL, JWT, and Identity Providers)
Hands-on with SFTP, JDBC, JMS, REST, JSON, MIME, YAML, and Postman collections for testing

Team Integration Requirements:

The developer needed to collaborate with the client’s on-site business teams, work within the decided hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST, i.e., 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. IST), participate in sprints and team meetings, discuss the integration progress, map data seamlessly between the integrating applications, and deliver high-quality code, creating a seamless foundation for future integrations.
