The client is a leading financial institution with operations spanning across McLean, VA, Plano, TX, and Richmond, VA. They use collaboration platforms to help tens of thousands of employees communicate and work together. The client wanted to improve their Slack implementation from a simple messaging tool into a secure and reliable platform that includes automation features to support their essential business operations.

Client Requirements

The client wanted to hire an experienced Senior Slack developer and a Mid-level developer with expertise in collaborative platforms for immediate hiring. The leadership role required a mix of technical strategy, management skills, and platform design, specifically for team collaboration. Whereas, the requirement for the associate role was to seamlessly integrate into the client’s in-house team and promptly execute priority tasks.

The goal was to transform Slack from basic administrative management into a robust, production-ready platform that emphasizes strong governance, engineering standards, and innovative features.

Specific Technical Requirements

6+ years supporting production platforms like Slack with administration and automation
4+ years of hands-on experience with core programming languages and cloud services
5+ years in at least one of: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go
4+ years of experience in open source frameworks
2+ years of experience in agile practices
Advanced development skills in Slack’s APIs
Working knowledge of Slack administration and architecture
experience in building and designing interactive apps within Slack
Proficiency in translating complex business requirements into precise technical specifications

Team Integration Requirements

The senior Slack developer was required to lead the project, including diverse technologies, and manage the in-house teams of the client. The mid-expertise developer was responsible for the quick development and deployment of the client project’s requirements.
